This is a vintage 1948 sewing pattern Simplicity 2600 for a housecoat in two lengths. This hostess robe or housecoat has a flared back, a peter pan collar, and two shaped pockets. The description on the pattern reads: 

Misses' Housecoat in Two Lengths: The flared-back housecoat is styled with two, shaped pockets, a Peter Pan collar and long sleeves. Styles 1 and 3 feature front-button closings. In Style 1, the sleeves are trimmed secured with snaps. A self belt is slipped through the side seams under the back and fastens into a center front bow. Style 3 is made of quilted fabric and is lined at all times. A soft bow accents the collar. A "Mother & Daughter" fashion, for Daughter see Simplicity 2601.
